Our First Full Day in Chajul

We arrived in Chajul safe and sound at 3:00pm Sunday and went to the welcome service.  The elders and members greeted us as fellow Christians and we immediately felt at home.  We introduced ourselves and sang a song (Sanctuary) we all now very well from PYF.  The women of the church made us a great dinner and we had some time for reflection at our hotel.

We woke up bright and early to work at the church construction site.  We did a lot of rock hauling and digging and I'm sure we'll all be sore in the morning.  We spent the afternoon with the church youth getting to know each other and singing songs.  They gave us a great tour of the town showing us the central square, the primary school and the central market.  We'll be eating dinner at the church again tonight; arroz con pollo (chicken and rice).
